Hello Hell 02:14
The voice in my head tells me what to do and who I am One thought to the next, relentless chatter back and forth it never ends It wants me dead it won’t relent it soon will send me to dissent The person that I am never seems to meet the needs or connect So I rage and I rest and I do what you’d expect but I must confess I believe I am possessed Hello, Hell Hang your hatred on me I’ll harken to your hungry hollow hymns Harnessing harm with your harmony I hail to your holy lonely night
2.
Well if I can’t afford a lesson then how will I learn If I can’t quench my thirst then my desires just burn If I can’t come clean, don’t be concerned Just tidy up the mess for me If you don’t tune in then I can’t get off If I can’t get my way then I must just turn soft You can lead me on but I might get lost You’re all dolled up and dressed for me You can love to death But you might get killed You can love for ever And never be fulfilled You an love so unconditionally But just leave a little love for me If I can’t sell my soul I’ll just give it away If I can’t live forever what’s the point in a name If it ain’t perfect it must be a shame So take it all out on me You can call me crazy, I’ll call you insane You can call me out it only adds to my fame You can take a spin on this cyclical pain When you need a friend don’t look at me You can love to death but you’d be a killer You can love forever and still might forget her You can love so unconditionally But leave a little love for me It gets a litte scandalous If you can’t hear me then read my lips You can whisper a curse, blow me a kiss Which devil am I dancin’ with? Quick wit, handsome smile Good guy with that charming guile Twisted tango, sweet denial Testify without no trial Give me your heart, give me your hand Attention, affection, a song and a dance Give me some sugar, that’s a command Satisfaction, supply and demand Love me, oh please! Love me it’s all I need Love me, I’ll never be free Leave a little love for me

Am I sleeping Am I dreaming Make believing Let’s play nice Am I lonely Am I holy Will I loathe the after life I despise my insight Can you see me Can you hear me Can you feel this discontent Can you fake it Can you break it Can you taste this toxic flesh I’ve got some sick sixth sense Empty laughter Constant disaster Fucking up faster Feign remorse Try much harder Fall much farther Made up martyrs Shit discourse Suffering is a matter of course

Replace all thought With witty remarks A progressive march A proper parade for a rainy day Download and save our slippery souls Invisible hands with the pipe of pan We sing and dance for the fat of the land Histories we’ve made Fiction we create Frame rate of our fame A tricky task, a phantom’s mask Will make us mad and lonely A king of fools to break the rules And bend the bones to jewelry A desperate parade is leading the way Beating the humdrum of god’s awful grace Quiet violence normalized Such a mundane suicide Our saviors consumed Orchestrated doom What now shall we do? Just laugh it off, a hollow cost We’re weak from weeks of purging A gentle nudge a little love Salvation must be lurking Were all alone All knowing and stoned Impulsive control Reverse the curse Rev up the hearse Cadavars are cavorting Embrace our fate And fade away the great decay is holy We must take comfort in mankind’s demise A spitting thrashing sacrifice Our blood will boil with the sea Our homes ride of disease Our bodies without needs Our flesh will feed the trees Our nerves finally at ease Our stories will make a glorious read Our spirits finally free Our love finally decreed

WTFWJD? 04:29
Christ was crucified for sedition Not for your sins One among many zealots Who refused to obey an oppressive state A failure in his plan These holy lands all market place All this hallowed ground Has been hollowed out No kingdom to come So we impose our own beliefs And build a god that thinks like me Who do you serve A Higher Purpose Or authority? Who do you worship A Higher Power Or powers that be? I’m trying to be Christlike But I’m frightened of sacrifice It’s easy to compare if you care to fantasize I am conspiring in a collapsing empire With the meek and the beaten ‘round a dying campfire We’re searching for a world worthy of salvation Fighting for faith among the deprivation We refuse to fund a violent empire While paradise is colonized by liars We travel the land in roving bands Gathering our followers on Instagram As all these sinners cast the first stone The state surveys with all seeing iphones Evil men thread a camel through the eye of a needle While we become like children free and feeble Spreading the word of apocalypse The good word of the gospel always on our lips Warning the poor of the end of days Praying heaven is our if we just rise up and claim it The first shall be last when we feel god’s wrath Through collective psychosis and climate collapse The fires of hell will be felt on earth Money exchangers tables finally turned Oh Christ, good god, how could I compare This savior complex is a cross to bare Chris hangs his head in shame For the horrors done in his name We project holiness The burden rests on his throned crown Screaming to an empty sky, crucified Crying “Why?” Why have you forsaken me?

All will be for naught For Christ on the cross Weeping and Bleeding His Word futile, his gospel justifying The highest of crimes, crime in the highest All Faith fuel for the pyre, flames among the fire We dance along to Nero on the lyre Embrace absurdity, squaller and obscenity We’re living in the street philosophically With a stoic rejection and a worthless perfection And a search for honesty, a polite hypocrisy So spit in the rich man’s face “Don’t stand in my light” We’ll find our happiness, but only out of spite All will be for naught For Diogenes on the cross Laughing madly All will be for fun when we all become holy bums Mumbling our revelations A whole book’s worth of revelations When the sea at last swallows me I’ll finally be free Of this ridiculous fantasy Of what created me

Impermanence 04:32
If I were denied these trying times How could I find my own worth? If I can’t decide that I’m ready to die How could I begin my rebirth? If I come to find my own freedom I may seek comfort in the cage When I follow the fear I’m feeding from It seems like I’m running away The moment I wake up The dream I was weaving which once seemed so real Reveals itself as made up When the time does arrive for my timely demise I’ll writhe with regret and remorse I’ll surely replace any tasteful disgrace With pleas for an easy recourse If the time comes to pass That I’m actually asked What the fuck I’m fighting for A brief relief of pain won’t quiet my brain Which seeks immortality and more The instant I die I can finally recognize that I had in fact in alive When the time comes for sustanence When needs need met And the pressure is felt I doubt some insufferable wordsmith Will be able to offer Any semblance of help When our time are defined by violence Some poetic prophet won’t due I’ve learned my aversion to impermanence The pen is not quite as mighty as the truth That a Big Man With A Gun Will do what he wants to So do as he says, or he’ll shoot My story will not live on with you

Fake Embrace 02:39
Life goes by Drained of life Decadent deception Distracts my eye Taking turns With worthless words Reaching out always Turns inwards Cycles spin The cage we’re in Cavorting, contorting Shapeshifting Bitter sweet Sweet release Empty rhetoric Expect, repeat Fading faith Fake embrace Fear the fate of Falling grace All we know It’s all for show Blinding brightness Great Below
10.
No Thing 04:38
Identified, Defined Through cyclical separation Deep breath, slow death A hole in my chest An empty severed head When vision’s an outward gaze Focas fades and blurs Reflections tend to lend themselves To the rippling of the water Travel en masse Vast and wide Just to be all alone again Internal hurt, eternal thirst We must learn to earn ourselves An open weeping wound May be used as a healing tool But the blade may be removed And wielded as a weapon Will we wander our whole lives Wondering what could be Will we ever be set free From this tension and release The gap that passion strives to bridge Sets the same flame that makes it burn And extended empty hand Holds the holy nothing to be learned
11.
Indifference 03:25
We’re all livin’ on the brink of a breakdown Navigating the spaces in between Life cycled and death spirals Solipsistic sense of sacred certainty How can we feel so empty When all we do is consume? The emperor is nude But we find meaning in meaning’s pursuit We don’t wanna be enlightened We wanna be in love We don’t want to wait for redemption To reign from above But as above so below All that’s left is a solemn sense of solace From which to grow We need darkness to see the stars But our resistance mimics the orthodox The truth is we must give up on truth Embrace a beautiful, brutal paradox So drink now of the blood From the sacramental wine Dine now on the body, but what of the mind? All is in a constant state of becoming Everything perpetually coming to it’s end Fulfillment in the face of futility Omnipotent indifference forgives us of our discontents So if it’s worth dying for It’s worth staying alive to find out How we can take faith in our doubts Forsaken futures fuel a flame Within and without We find fellowship in the fight Despite the inevitable ending Find redemption in connection Meet the reckoning with reverence and affection We don’t want to be enlightened We wanna be in love But everythings perpetually ending all the time Laughter in the face of suffering At the forest’s edge we can sense A lovingly indifferent divine

Memento Mori 03:05

about

I’d like to thank the following folks:

Mike at Noisy Little Critter for working on this project over several years, helping to guide it sonically, and being always patient and understanding of my broke nagging ass. Clover & Dollhouse Lightning for pressing it to vinyl and helping me through the process. Scott Eaton, on whose piano I wrote many of these songs. Britt for the constant care and support. Isaac, AC, and Cohosh for hosting my get aways when I need ‘em. Alex, Tommy, Qian, and Jack for helping me get sober. Andi, Jodi, Obisidian, and the rest of the Harm Redux Recovery Punx Group for helping keep me that way. James Bristol & the OWL Hollow for holding down and important space, and taking me in when nobody else would. Briar, Melissa, Jeremy, Kayla for housing us when the van broke down.

The endless list of kind people who have performed along side me, tossed a dollar in my busking case, provided a meal or a place to stay, donated to may many “GoFundMe” campaigns when my van is busted, made art for a flyer, sang along at a show even when you were shy, danced without reserve. Goddamn I feel grateful to know you. You’re all I got in this world.

There are writers that have helped me work through the ideas in this work, those include: Naomi Klein, Rev. angel kydo williams, adrianne maree brown, bell hooks, David Graeber, Eric Fromm, Mark Fischer, Alan Watts, Richard Gilman-Opalsky, Reza Aslan, Gabor Mate, Silvia Federici, Micheal Brooks.

There are musicians who have inspired this work, including: Ceschi, Andy the Doorbum, Lankum, Holy Locust, The Hills and the Rivers, Cousin Boneless, Huntress and the Holder of Hands, Amigo the Devil, On the Water, Rail Yard Ghosts, Rent Strike, and many more incredible folks who I hope will forgive my inability to call forward their name in this moment.

I’d like to dedicate the record to the memories of Kasey Fusco, Aaron Pollard
